Shift dress and comfortable sneakers

chichi made October 2, 2016

Lazy Sundays do not necessarily mean you have to look like you just rolled out of bed. You can be absolutely comfortable yet still feel like you’re well put together. I love these type of days. After an entire morning and afternoon of literally lounging in my pj’s with my unwashed face, my little family decided to eventually venture outdoors – after we washed our faces of course. However, I wanted to carry the lazy Sunday theme into my outfit.

I wore my super affordable F21 shift dress with my white Keds that I bought on sale from DSW. For some interest I added a bib statement necklace. Lastly, to top off my lazy Sunday I threw my hair into a messy high pony tail.

Comfortable can easily be chic.

Yours Truly,

Julie

Asymmetric tank and jeans

chichi made August 3, 2016

My office allows us to wear jeans in the summer months and I am taking full advantage of it. Who says a pair of simple jeans cannot be fabulous? Here I paired my high rise skinny jeans with an asymmetric tank top from H&M (no longer in stock) and my nude chunky heels.

The asymmetric tank top adds a little more excitement into the outfit and draws the eyes vertically. Which in turn, helps to create the illusion of my 5'4 petite frame into a...5'8 supermodel frame perhaps? Yes, wishful thinking on my part but it definitely does makes me look taller than I really am.

Stilettos are becoming hard to comfortably walk in as I grow older, therefore, I am embracing the chunky heel trend with [thankful] open arms. And these heels are no exception. They are currently my go-to favorites for both work and play. The best part? They are super affordable and the quality is great for the price tag. It's a win for myself and my wallet.

Yours Truly,

Julie

Sleeveless rib dress

I love outfits where one or two pieces of accessories can become the star of the show and this is definitely one of them. It’s a minimalistic look that screams chic.

Not only is this dress absolutely comfortable to wear it also goes with everything! I can throw a jean jacket over it or tie a buttoned down shirt around my waist. I can wear it with many types of shoes whether it be flats, ankle booties, or heels. Above all, it’s a great piece to throw in your suitcase because the layering opportunities are endless. Now that I’m writing that out loud - it will be going into my own personal suitcase for my upcoming birthday weekend trip to Chicago :)

I paired this universal dress with nude block heels, tear drop shaped earrings and bold red lips. Again, allowing my earrings and bold lip color to star and draw the eyes in. Lastly, to ensure that all my junk is nicely tucked into my trunk, I am wearing a Spanx high wasted panty. Can we get an Amen for the creation of Spanx? Amen.

Yours Truly,

Julie

Black and White: Slacks and Tank

chichi made June 26, 2016

I have a 9 to 5 office job that has contributed to my ever growing collection of slacks. With that said, I'm always looking for ways to reinvent the pants that I currently own in my closet so that I can wear it outside of the office to make the most of it.

In general I usually like to mix more casual pieces with more dressier ones. It creates a very simple, yet chic balance. In this look I tucked a plain, white v-neck tank top into a pair of black cropped pants. I decided not to over-accessorize (yes, there is such a thing) and skipped out on the bracelets and belt. The focus should be on the transition from white to black; none of the fluff needed or wanted. The on-trend black choker created a nice pop of separation from my white top and my very pale skin (hey, no shame!) and helped tied the entire look together. Lastly, I added a little pizzazz with the studded snake skinned pump. We can always use a little more pizzazz in our daily lives.

Yours Truly,

Julie
